Going further along from Brighton and having crossed the Waimakiriri river, this beach just keeps on going north. It is a flat-ish beach with a long tide. On occasions you can see one or two people walking along the beach, but it is pretty normal to walk for 30 minutes and not see a living soul - urm - human that is. Plenty of birds and fish and other living creatures though. Ideal for sun-bathing ^^! The sand is very fine and grey-ish. Mostly the sand is generated from the gravel washing down the three major rivers in Canterbury.
