Ahhhh yes - Barrytown Beach. Home to fabulous sunsets - of which we have seen a many so far!! The sandy beach also sports a various collection of (honest to goodness true) Greenstone pebbles ranging from tiny nuggets to fist size and are usually found after a decent strom surge. Recently I also found out, that there is from time to time a bloke washing the sand - and he is looking for Gold - which can indeed be found!! However both activities can only take place during the lower part of the tides. And before you get any fancy ideas - you have to work long and hard to get rich on the gold! anywoo - other noteworthy features is the wildlife coming onshore and the driftwood. Nearest closest landmass going in a straight line across the Tasman see is the (is)land of Australia - some 4000km west from here!
